Simon Venn joins Adarga as Chair of the Board

The esteemed risk and security expert will support the AI software company through an ambitious phase of evolution.

London, 11th December 2025 - Adarga, the Enterprise AI software company, today announces the appointment of Simon Venn as non-executive Chair. He will be responsible for leading the board as the company embarks upon a significant phase of growth and development, working with the management team to deliver returns for investors and shareholders.

Simon is a highly respected executive having operated at board level for both private and FTSE listed companies predominantly undergoing complex transformations and turnarounds. Prior to his Non-Executive career he was a senior executive at Cable & Wireless and Royal Dutch Shell and most recently part of the Executive team at Mitie PLC where he was directly responsible for managing complex, multi-billion-pound P&Ls, and for playing a significant part in creating and successfully executing the corporate growth and turnaround strategy that led to it being the market leader it is today.

Simon is also a proven entrepreneur, having built and successfully divested the world-class SME, Source8, back in 2014. Source8 specialised in delivering capacity building and intelligence services in high-risk environments and markets around the world. He has operated across the senior echelons of Whitehall, the MoD, Cabinet Office and NATO, and possesses a deep understanding of the mechanisms of government, National Security and the global Defence ecosystem. In 2014 he was appointed by the Foreign Secretary, Sir William Hague MP, to sit on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s Overseas Business Risk (OBR) joint advisory group board. The OBR provided security advice and intelligence to UK companies operating overseas. Perhaps most notably, he was recently appointed by the Rt. Hon Lord Robertson as a core reviewer on the United Kingdom’s Strategic Defence Review.

Commenting on the appointment, Adarga’s founder and CEO, Rob Bassett Cross, said: “I am pleased to welcome Simon to the board and am looking forward to working with him. Simon has an incredible track record of building and leading successful organisations in our industry, and he understands what it takes to operate at scale and serve customers with the highest standards of delivery. His deep institutional knowledge of our industry and our strategic priorities means he is ideally positioned to lead the board and support the company through an exciting next phase of growth.”

Simon added: “I am honoured to be appointed Chair of Adarga. Years of working with commercial and government organisations have shown me just how significantly poor technology adoption and data insight can severely limit strategic decision-making capabilities. Adarga has already established itself as a leader in solving this problem, tackling some of the toughest challenges our customers face—but it’s the next phase of innovation that will take the company to new heights. I’m delighted to lead the board, support the management team and engage with our key stakeholders as we deliver an ambitious global roadmap that will define the future of data intelligence.”

ABOUT ADARGA: Adarga is an enterprise AI software company building a suite of domain-specific AI offerings for customers in defence and national security. Adarga’s mission is to empower customers to make better decisions.
