Adarga commits to net zero emissions with launch of Adarga Zero

We are marking this year’s World Environment Day by launching Adarga Zero – our commitment to achieving net zero emissions as part of the UK’s Business Climate Leaders Initiative.

Adarga is pleased to have officially signed the SME Climate Commitment, formally aligning to UN Sustainable Development Goals on reducing carbon emissions, greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. The SME Climate Commitment forms part of the United Nation’s Race to Zero campaign, the largest ever alliance committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest.

We are committed to protecting the environment and climate change plays an important part in our business decision-making.  We’re proud to say we already have a number of practices in place to ensure we are minimising our carbon footprint. From planting trees so that we’re offsetting our emissions and are carbon neutral, to making the most environmentally conscious choices in our working practices, to ensuring our suppliers are as committed to reducing climate change as we are - you can read more about this here

As part of our SME climate commitment, we will put a wider framework in place with a more comprehensive analysis of our environmental impact. This will include further key targets to ensure we are well on our way to halving our carbon emissions by 2030 and can hit our net zero goals by 2050 or much sooner. This means that we won’t just be carbon neutral across all of our business operations but will have deeply reduced our greenhouse gas emissions to the point where minimal carbon offsetting is required. These will then be reviewed on a yearly basis to ensure we are well on target.

The UN’s Race To Zero objective is to build momentum around the shift to a decarbonized economy as we seek to limit global warming to below 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels, and Adarga is proud to be supporting this. Reducing carbon emissions across our entire business contributes to stabilising global temperature rise and minimising harmful emissions that damage the atmosphere. With the UK government hosting COP26 in November where world leaders will gather to commit to urgent action to tackle the climate emergency, all eyes will be on the UK to agree the most ambitious plans to fight climate change the world has ever seen

Our net zero pledge is critical to our planet, our economies and our lives – now more than ever. Adarga is committed to playing its part in this shift towards environmentally conscious business practices and we encourage our suppliers and partners to do the same.
