AUKUS 1 year on. Are we doing enough?

Today marks the one-year anniversary of AUKUS - the trilateral security cooperation treaty between Australia, the US and the UK.

Specifically, it concerns the sharing of ‘capabilities and critical technologies, such as cyber, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and undersea domains’.

At a time of rapidly increasing strategic uncertainty, the imperative for AUKUS could not be clearer. Deeper cooperation in the development of security and defence capabilities, more intimate partnering, and cross-pollination of information and technology are vital if we are to promote the deeper integration of our security and defence-related science, technology, industrial bases, and supply chains.

But are our three nations doing enough to ensure that we are competitively positioned and organised to win the techno-economic contest ahead? Cooperation in the development of foundational technologies, such as AI, is just one vital area where we can be collaborating even more closely today.

Adarga is proud to be leading such efforts. With teams in the UK, United States and Australia, we are committed to deepening tech cooperation between our three nations and connecting tech expertise and deployable AI-driven software capabilities with users to solve their most critical mission challenges. Only by working together can we tip the competitive balance. This is at the heart of our Allies First strategy as we build a powerful coalition of partners to collectively drive bold, innovative and rapid technical capability development to address our nations’ most pressing challenges.
