It's about enabling AI to perform the repetitive and time-intensive tasks - with the human always in the loop – enabling more effective deployment of the highly specialist skills and experience of our military personnel on mission critical outcomes, and enabling a force with capabilities far greater than the sum of its parts.
One such example of an AI tasking is empowering military analysts and researchers to make sense of huge volumes of information at a speed and scale not previously possible - a vital capability if defence organisations are to stay ahead of fast-moving events and maintain a strategic advantage.
Applications of AI to tasks like this have already proven to help military analysts and planners achieve results that are significantly faster and in turn enable more informed, confident, and truly data-driven decision-making by commanders.
The consequences of not innovating better and faster than our adversaries threaten the UK’s ability to modernise, adapt, and remain globally competitive.
